Class G (Baloot)

Art, Music and Language Class

Baloot classes have multiple sections based on children’s fluency. In addition to formal reading and writing lessons, each class also includes music, arts and cultural education where children learn about the Persian literature and folklore and different Persian celebrations and traditions. They take virtual trips to different regions of Iran to discover its diverse culture, get introduced to the colorful cuisine and handicrafts of Iran and study its landmarks and historical sites.

In Baloot classes, children perform in a choir. They will learn how to sing a selected Persian song in an interactive and lively setting. Studying one line (Beit) per week, the students get to learn the words’ pronunciations, meanings, and the story behind the song and its original singer, as well as musical aspects such as form and accuracy of rhythms and melody. The classes will meet once a week via Zoom app but we’ll also use an additional platform (Flipgrid) for recording and sharing weekly videos and other related materials for practice purposes.
