Introduction to Modern and Contemporary Iranian artists

In this workshop, children will be introduced to six prominent Iranian artists from the Modern to Contemporary era: Monir Shahroudy Farmanfarmaian, Charles Hossein Zenderoudi, Bahman Mohasses, Behjat Sadr, Siah Armajani, Ali Akbar Sadeghi. In each session we will learn about one of these artists while discussing her or his artwork, techniques and the use of materials!  Inspired by the artist of the day, children will create their own artwork.

Supply list:

• A base or background (my suggestion is to get one Mixed media vellum paper sketchbook, size 11″ x 14”  that can be used for all 6 sessions.) 
• Aluminum foil
• Tissue paper (main colores, bright colors preferred)
• Glue stick (Elmer’s All Purpose)
• Glue Emer’s liquid (Multi-purpose)
• Scissor
• Markers 
• Washable paint + paper plate 
• Brushes (round and flat preferred, medium size)
• Colored pencils 
• Plastic pallet knife (medium size) or a piece of cardboard or small ruler
• Air-Dry clay
• Newspaper or any recycle paper
• Cardboards, small boxes
• Very small wood stick or used match stick
• Letter size paper for printing
