Mona Tavangar is a musician and children’s educational media professional based in New York. Born in the US to Iranian parents, she is passionate about teaching and celebrating Iranian language, music, and culture. Mona studied psychology and music at Tufts University, where she sang jazz, opera, and musical theater. She also taught children’s piano classes and co-conducted a children’s choir through the Tufts Community Music Program. Since graduating in 2022, Mona has been working at Scholastic Inc., focusing on placing books in children’s hands through the Scholastic Book Fairs and Book Clubs. As a former student of a Persian language school in Boston similar to Pardis, she is honored to help nurture and empower the next generation of Iranian-Americans.
