Introduction to Iranian Puppetry and Storytelling

In this workshop, the children will learn about the origins of puppetry in Iran and how puppets were used the Iranian ceremonies and celebrations. They specifically study three puppetry techniques in traditional Iranian theater and will learn how to make these puppets; Khial Bazi (Shadow puppetry), Jiji Viji (the soprano puppet similar to marionette ) and Dig be Sar (the body-puppetry performance).

Farsi Level: Beginner to intermediate
