Nami Nazar is an Iranian composer and violinist based in New York, currently studying at the Juilliard School under Naoko Tanaka. He is a prizewinner of competitions like the National Youth Music Festival in Iran. He has performed as a soloist and chamber musician at venues such as Alice Tully Hall (Lincoln Center), Peter Jay Sharp Theater, and Tehran’s Vahdat Hall. Nami has served as concertmaster and soloist with the Tehran Music Conservatory’s Orchestra at the Fajr International Music Festival and is currently performing in the Juilliard Orchestra.
In addition to his violin studies, Nami is passionate about composing and conducting. He has composed for and conducted the Pars Symphony Orchestra in Iran and has participated in masterclasses with Shahrdad Rohani and others. Nami is interested in integrating traditional Iranian music with film scoring and is an active composer and arranger for the Pars Music Institute in Iran.
Beyond the violin, he plays various instruments, including the Piano, Violin, Saxophone, Ney, etc. Nami’s ultimate ambition is to bring Persian music into Hollywood film scoring and become a leading Iranian-born composer in the industry.
